We are pleased to announce that the call for abstracts, symposium proposals, and pre-seminar contributions (for the pre-seminar on 6 May) is open from 1 December 2025 to 23 January 2026 (extended).
Use the abstract submission form (link below) for all submission types.
If you are submitting an individual paper, please indicate the primary and secondary thematic session that best suits your topic. Please choose pre-seminar if you wish to present your paper in the pre-seminar on 6 May 2026.
If you are submitting a symposium, please submit the symposium proposal (introduction, max 200 words, and the name and affiliation of the organiser(s)). Please note that each presenter in your symposium must also submit their own abstract and indicate on the submission form which symposium it belongs to.
The contribution proposals will be reviewed by the thematic session and pre-seminar organisers and the organising committee. Abstract acceptance notification will be sent by email to the submitter on 13 February 2026. Note that the author marked as the presenting author must register as a conference participant and pay the registration fee by 19 March 2026.
Note that as the first presenter, multiple paper presentations are not allowed. Hence, if a paper is accepted for presentation in a Thematic Session, its first presenter will be excluded from any other group as the first presenter.
Accepted abstracts will be published in the online programme on the website and/or in a PDF book of abstracts, if accepted for presentation.
The programme will be finalised no later than 23 March 2026.
The call for thematic sessions has ended.
THEMATIC SESSIONS aim to highlight current adult education research. Thematic Sessions will consist of papers connected by a unifying theme that should be broad enough to include different perspectives related to the theme (Please note that a Thematic Session is not a Symposium). The conference organisers will select a number of proposed Thematic Sessions based on scientific quality and originality. In the abstract call presenters will be asked to name a Thematic Session where they would like to present their paper. The Thematic Sessions will run in parallel and will be held in person.
To propose a Thematic Session:
Please send the proposal to the conference organisers by email: nordicadulteducation@utu.fi
In the PDF of your proposal, please include the following information that will also be published on the conference website.
